Events 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament April 15, 2019When a passion for golf and giving to others are combined, a community changes for the better. Since 2014, the partners and staff of Greenwood Financial Group, along with dozens of generous corporate sponsors and contributors, have given their time, talents, and over $30,000 to support our annual charity golf tournament benefitting The First Tee of Greater Richmond. This year, 22 teams totaling 88 golfers enjoyed lunch and some premium swag from FootJoy® before teeing off under a clear blue sky on the lush, rolling greens of The Federal Club. The high wind gusts, which exceeded 20 mph throughout the day, certainly tested participants’ skills but couldn’t diminish their resolve to complete a challenging round. The tournament ended with a raffle that included dozens of attractive prizes ranging from a luxury golf experience for four to a set of new clubs. Participating teams and individual golfers gave graciously beyond their registration fees to buy a chance—or several chances—to win, knowing that 100 percent of their financial contribution was going directly to The First Tee and its life-changing mission.Thank you, everyone, for making this event possible and enjoyable. We value the trust you place in us to help you achieve your financial dreams. We also appreciate your giving spirit that, together, allows us to lift up our youth and equip them with the skills they need for the good lives they deserve. PLAN NOW!The 7th Annual GFG Golf Tournament will be Monday, April 20, 2020. Be watching for details to come in January 2020. About the CharityThe mission of The First Tee of Greater Richmond is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The First Tee benefits our community by positively influencing behaviors of young people and inspiring adults to mentor, coach, volunteer, donate to the cause, and uphold the mission. It's through these efforts that youths become more prepared to make sound decisions, exercise good character, and live satisfying, productive lives in which they can give back to the community. "We support The First Tee because of its impact on developing young golfers, not only in their golf skills, but most importantly, in the values that will make them better people in life."- Doug Greenwood For more information about the tournament Name Email Address Phone Thank you!
